Oman will face Bahrain in the semifinal of the Gulf Cup 2017, as Bahrain held Qatar to a 1-1 draw on Friday. The draw helped Bahrain to maintain their second place in the Group B table and book a meeting with the Red Warriors on January 2.
Hassan al Haydoos gave Qatar the lead in the 50th minute from a penalty but Ali Jaffar fired the Bahraini crowd with an equalizer 7 minutes later.
In the other match, Iraq defeated Yemen 3-0 to qualify to the top four and top the group points table. Iraq will face UAE in a thriller on January 2.
After a goalless first half, Iraq scored the first goal in the 54th minute, thanks to Ali Husni. Ali Fayez doubled it as he converted a penalty in the 64th minute, before Mahdi Kamel scored the third goal in the 80th minute.
Iraq lead the Group B as they stayed in the third place with three points while Yemen had no points .
